Commercial / Contracts Engineer – Contract – London\nLocation: London\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join a world leading cleantech, renewable and alternative energy\ncompany involved in the development of novel green energy solutions on a global scale. The role is working client side and is outside IR35.\nRole & Responsibilities\n * Responsible for managing the full lifecycle of major EPC and PMC contracts – including the tendering, negotiation, award, post-award administration, and close-out.\n * Responsible for negotiation and commercial management of all contracts relating to the engineering programme both during the design and construction phases (EPC).\n * Prepare and issue RFPs/RFQs, oversee clarifications, conduct bid evaluations, and lead both technical and commercial assessments.\n * Lead contract and commercial negotiations with contractors, consultants, and suppliers.\n * Implementation of contractual agreements with suppliers and partners to protect commercial interest of the company.\n * Managing contracts entered into with EPC contractors, technology licensors and other engineering suppliers.\n * Manage awarded contracts in accordance with their terms and conditions throughout project execution.\n * Administer variations, change orders, claims, time extensions, and ensure appropriate approvals are in place.\n * Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations, milestones, deliverables, and quality standards.\n * Manage resolution of disputes or claims in coordination with legal, commercial, and project teams.\n * Management of the contractual relationship with suppliers, technology companies and engineering partners.\n * Support contract-related cost control, forecasting, and budget management activities.\nKey Skills, Knowledge & Education\n * Must have relevant experience in contract management in the energy sector, especially during the EPC phase.\n * Knowledge of major contract types, IChemE, FIDIC, NEC\n * Must have experience of license agreements with technology licensors.\n * Experience in major energy projects during EPC stage – experience in large clean energy projects a distinct advantage.\n * Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Law or Engineering, though experience over qualifications will also be considered.\nThis role is deemed to be outside IR35
