Electrical Technician

Position: Electrical Technician \n\nLocation: Cambridge \n\nSalary: £45,000 - £50,000 - Negotiable Depending on Experience \n\nProactive are currently in search of a Multi-Skilled Electrical Technician to start work for a company based in Cambridge. You will be responsible for providing build and test support for the development and production of cutting-edge systems using your mechanical and electrical knowledge. This role will involve extensive overseas travel to install machines on client sites.\n\nMain Responsibilities: \n\nReading & interpreting technical drawings.\nWiring- flagging issues with supplier & internal quality.\nTesting and fault finding.\nElectrical Installation \nTake ownership and responsibility to ensure that the build process whilst maintaining a high-quality standard.\nUndertake electrical/functional testing of systems prior to the system being released.\nSupport the testing and commissioning of systems.\nDevelop and improve all aspects of the build process including standardisation of build and test methods to ensure highest product quality.\nSpecify and maintain tools and equipment.Knowledge and Experience:\n\nEssential:\n\nGood understanding of electrical principles.\nGood working knowledge of PLC hardware.\nAbility to read and understand electrical drawings.\nExcellent problem-solving skills - able to methodically and logically find root cause of technical issues.\nExcellent attention to detail, logical/methodical thinker.\nWorking knowledge of standard manufacturing and engineering processes.\nGood communication skills - able to work across team/and functions.\nStrong organisational and problem-solving skills.\nIT literate - Effective use of MS Office.Desirable\n\nBasic knowledge of PLC\nKnowledge of safety circuits and system compliance will be an advantage.\nDrive for development and learning.\nExposure to 5S Lean Manufacturing Methodology.How to Apply:\n\nFor more information on the role, or an informal discussion regarding opportunities we have available, please contact Jemal Tawfieg on (phone number removed) or \n\nWhy work with Proactive?\n\nProactive Global is an industry leading, specialist engineering recruitment agency focused on the automation, manufacturing and robotics sectors.
